Tour Description

Enjoy and Explore the diversity of the last remain Sumatra rain forest. Get lost and blending in with the nature, also learning flora and faunas. The guide will explain everything about the Sumatra rain forest and how the local use the plants to make it as a medicine. The terrain is very rugged, you must watch your step. very steep incline and decline path. Some areas you might need grab on to the trees branches and roots.

The temperature is very hot and humid. You will sweat a lot. Do the jungle trekking with your own phase. Take a breaks as much as you needed. Bring enough water for your self. lunch will be served during this tour, also with some tropical fresh fruits. This tour is private and can be customized to suit you and the family.

Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed but are highly likely, especially for orangutans.

There are many mosquitos in the jungle. Make sure put on some mosquito spray or repellent. We can obtain the local mosquito repellent in any shop in Bukit lawang. The DEED max only 13%. If you need higher deed or stronger mosquito repellent, you need to obtain it yourself.

There will be some leeches on this area as well.

Pick up from your Hotel in Medan City by 5.30 am

Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in medan. Drive trough the medan city and Binai city and reached the rural area. Keep on driving through the rural area and palm oil plantation. Take extra nap if you could while driving to Bukit Lawang. This journey will take about 2 hours. Reached bukit lawang by 7.30. We will organized the permit and other official payment once we arrived at Bukit Lawang village.

Welcome to the Jungle – Entering Gunung Leuser

Heading to Bamboo restaurant located at Ecolodge – Bukit lawang. We arranged the breakfast. we have around 1 hour to have coffee and breakfast. Meeting and introduction with the local guide with short briefing about the jungle trek trip. Start your trek into the park around 9:00 AM. walking slow with ascending the jungle. Be careful and enjoy the hike. Watch out for wild life, insect or leeches. The surface are not even, some are muddy, slippery and filled with the roots. This You are here to enjoy the rain forest and observe the wildlife. Take your time. Take a break whenever you needed. The trip will go for 6-7 hours to completed.

Lunch – Picnic by the creek or under the tree: Lunch will be served by midday. Picnic by creek or the jungle. Enjoy a jungle-style lunch of nasi goreng (fried rice), Snacks and tropical fruit will be serve trough out the trip. Bring enough water for your self ( Min 2 Liter/ two big bottle ) . It is tropical climate here. The temperature can get up to 38 degrees by midday with really high humidity. You will be sweaty from the start to the finish.

Trekking Highlights: Seeing the wildlife is not guaranteed, but there is chance to see them on their habitat. Look for semi-wild orangutans, macaques, and Thomas leaf monkeys. Stop at scenic viewpoints overlooking the jungle canopy.

PICK UP FROM THE HOTEL IN MEDAN BY 5 AM

Our driver will come to your hotel to pick you up and drive you to Bukit Lawang. This trip will take about 3 hours. Driving through the cities and towns, the rural area with palm oil plantation along the way. Expect the traffics in the city, and the bumpy rugged road by the rural area

MEET AND GREET | BREAKFAST | BRIEFING

Arrived in Bukit Lawang by 7 am. Heading to the meeting point at the Bamboo restaurant. Meet and greet the Jungle guide. Have breakfast and briefing about the jungle trek tour trip ahead. Get ready for the jungle trek hike. Make sure you have the national park permit already obtained

Day 1 FULL DAY JUNGLE TREK TOUR

Start the jungle trek tour into Sumatra pristine jungle. This tour will last for 6-7 hours. The trek can be challenging and hard in some area. Some rugged surface fillet with the roots from the tress and can be muddy from the previous rain. Walk through the jungle with your own phase. There is no rush to enjoy the jungle and observing the wildlife. Look for the animals insect or reptiles around. Don’t touch them if you see them.

Take breaks as much as you needed. Lunch will be served by the river bank or picnic under the big tree. Nasi goreng and tropical fruits will be served as for the lunch. Watch out keep an eye for the wild animals while having the lunch.

Continued the walk after the lunch and reached the campsite by late afternoon. Always keep your eye on the path you are taking. so many roots and traps all along the path. Don’t get tripped of slipped. once we reached the campsite by the riverbank, take a break relax and swim in the river. The team will serve the afternoon tea and snacks while they are preparing the dinner. Tent are already set up upon our arrival.

The temperature is very hot and humid, please bring enough drinking water for your self during this trip. Dress light with light long pants and long sleep. Wear proper and very light hiking shoes. It rains nearly every at late afternoon to the evening. Bring some Mosquito repellent or spray. There are mosquito in the jungle

DAY 2 JUNGLE TREK - RETURN TO YOUR HOTEL in MEDAN

Wake up in the morning with the sounds of the rain forest. Some monkeys will shouting at early morning. Enjoy the morning jungle vibe with coffee and tea. Breakfast are on the way. Banana pancake or toast will be served as for breakfast. Once breakfast done, get ready for another full day trekking. Start walk through the jungle again once breakfast is done. Make sure pack all your stuff and don’t leave anything behind.

This trek will goes for another 6-7 hours length. Walking deeper with more steep climbs. different terrain with more rugged area. Try to look for the wildlife and observe the jungle while walking through the jungle.

We will take the lunch by midday. Some indonesian dishes will be served with fresh tropical fruit. Usually sit down and have the lunch by the small creek or picnic under the tree. Keep the eyes open for the wildlife around. Some creepy crawly may appear on the jungle floor. Watch out for insect, centipede or scorpions.

Continue the walk after the lunch and break is finished. walk another 3 hours till we reached the camp 2. Arrived by the campsite, relax and enjoy the afternoon vibe in the jungle. Take a swim in the river, tea and snacks will be served. The team will prepare the dinner. Some varieties Indonesian food will be served. Nasi, tofu, tempeh with some vegetables.

Enjoy the night chat with the guide, play with the card, and watch star over the shadow of the trees. the fire bond near the campsite to keep warm and protect the tent from some creatures.

DAY 3 JUngle TREK and RETURN to the village and Heading back to Medan

Wake up by the sounds of the jungle with some monkeys are shouting near by the campsite. Enjoy the tea and coffee
