Tour Description
Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed but are highly likely, especially for orangutans.
There are many mosquitos in the jungle. Make sure put on some mosquito spray or repellent. We can obtain the local mosquito repellent in any shop in Bukit lawang. The DEED max only 13%. If you need higher deed or stronger mosquito repellent, you need to obtain it yourself.
There will be some leeches on this area as well.
DAY 1 : Welcome to the Jungle – Entering Gunung Leuser
Morning:
Meet your guide at your Bamboo Restaurant at Eco Lodge as the meeting point or at guesthouse where you are staying. There will be some short safety briefing, jungle trekking guidelines and introduction.. Start your trek into the park around 9:00 AM. walking slow with ascending the jungle. Be careful and enjoy the hike. Watch out for wild life, insect or leeches. The surface are not even, some are muddy, slippery and filled with the roots.
Trekking Highlights:
Gradual ascent into the primary rain forest. Do it on your own phase. Take as breaks as you need it. Look for semi-wild orangutans, macaques, and Thomas leaf monkeys. Stop at scenic viewpoints overlooking the jungle canopy.
Lunch – Picnic by the creek or under the tree:
Lunch will be served by midday. Picnic by creek or the jungle. Enjoy a jungle-style lunch of nasi goreng (fried rice), tropical fruits, and snacks. Snacks and tropical fruit will be serve trough out the trip
Afternoon:

Continue deeper into the jungle, observing wildlife, learning about native medicinal plants, and listening to the sounds of the rainforest.
Evening:
Arrive at your first jungle camp by late afternoon—usually near a small river or waterfall. The team will set up the tent and prepare the dinner. Take a a rest, relax. Swim or wash in the stream while the cook prepares a hearty dinner. Enjoy tea or coffee while listening to the sound of the jungle. Indonesian Style Dinner will be served. Plain rice with Vegetables, chicken, tofu, tempeh and other stir fried vegetables.. Sleep in a jungle shelter (tent), under the forest canopy. Mosquito net and sleeping bag will be provided. Storytelling, star-gazing, and campfire time
Total trekking: ~5–6 hours
Overnight: Camp 1 (near river)
Wildlife focus: Orangutans, macaques, hornbills
DAY 2: Go Deeper to the Jungle reach the Camp 2
Morning:

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and Monkeys echoing through the forest.

Jungle breakfast: toast, eggs, or banana pancakes with tea or coffee.

Begin a full day trek further into the heart of the park, away from common tourist routes. It will go for another 6-7 hours. Going Deeper and further into the Rain Forest.
- Take a break when you need it. Don’t rush it, enjoy the jungle and the hike.
Trekking Highlights:

Greater chance of seeing white-handed gibbons, monitor lizards, and possibly wild boars.

Learn jungle survival skills: how to use vines for water, make natural rope, build shelter.
Lunch and Snacks:

The team will provide Jungle lunch at a rest point under towering fig trees or by the creek. Tropical fruit will be served. Bring enough water.
Afternoon and Camp 2:

Continue the walk trough the jungle and reached the CAMP 2, often at the high river bank or hidden waterfall.

Take a rest Cool off and swim in the river. Coffee and tea with snacks will be served.
- The guide, porters will be setting up the Tent and Prepare the Dinner
Evening:

Enjoy the Indonesian Style dinner ( Plain rice with stir fried vegetables, fish or chicken curry, tempe, tofu and sambals)

Some bonfire will be set up at the camp side to protect the tent from the wild life and generating heat
- Storytelling, star-gazing, and campfire time
- Sleep with the sounds of the river, jungle

Night walk possible for spotting insects, frogs, or civet cats (if not too tired).
DAY 3: Packing and Return to Bukit Lawang
Jungle Breakfast. Light breakfast like Banana Pancake with fruit and hot drinks.
Short Hike and Heading to Small Water fall near the campsite. Final short trek, descending toward the Bohorok River.
Packing and Tidy up. Return to the village by Tube rafting on the river

Exciting tubing experience: float down the Bohorok River with guides, surrounded by jungle views.

Life jackets and dry bags provided.

Arrive back in Bukit Lawang village.

- Sumatra Elephant Sanctuary: Get along and participate in one of the Sumatran Elephant activity at the border of the national park Tangkahan. Walk with the elephant to the river trough the Sumatra jungle, then bath the elephant in the river. This activity is 8.30 am and 3.30 pm. For the walking and bathing the elephant, the CRU will charge for 1.000.000 IDR, 600.000 IDR for only bathing the elephant. We will organized the transport to go and back to Bukit lawang village for 1.200.000, IDR. The car fit 4px max. Lunch will be provided
- Volcano Hike Mount Sibayak – BERASTAGI: 500.000 IDR| 2px Min. You need to be in Beratagi to do this Tour. Climb a magnificent active volcano in Berastagi Region- Mount Sibayak. Suitable almost for everyone. The summit is only 2200 meter. You could do it early in the morning for the sunrise or at anytime during the day. Volcano views with many Fume Holes all over the crater. Take a dip into the Thermal bath pond at the bottom of the mountain on your way down.
