Tour Description and Itinerary

On this one 1  jungle trekking day tour,  you will be picked up from your accommodation at about 9 am after breakfast.  There will be some short  introduction and briefing about about the trip. As soon as every one ready, we start the walk by crossing the River over the bridge, walking toward the rain forest and passing the border of the National Park of Gunung Leuser. This one day jungle trekking tour is a full day tour. It goes for 6-7 hours. As we walk into the jungle, we will stop many times to observe the wildlife around us, and the guide will also explain all about the jungle and all inhabitant inside this sumatra last remain rain forest.

The terrain of this sumatra jungle are not even. There are lots of roots, rotten and decomposing leafs and logs on the jungle floor. Watch out for creepy crawly creatures on the ground. Look out for the sneaky animals on the branches too. There will be plenty of ground ants nesting through out the jungle area. The muddy and rugged surface caused by previous rain also little bit challenging to get through. There will be many steep climbing and ascending. Grab on the roots or trees nearby if need it. Bring enough water for your self. It is hot and very humid. Take rest whenever you need it.

After 3 hours of walking through the jungle, time to have lunch. Picnic by the creek or under the tree. Lunch will be provided, nasi goreng will be served as for the lunch with some fresh tropical fruit. watch out for sneaky wild animals around you.

After lunch, continue to stroll the jungle, walking deeper into the jungle and reach the end of the trail by the river bank. We will reach this river bank by 2pm. Rest and relax and enjoying the river while the team preparing the TUBE RAFT for our transport back to the village in Bukit Lawang. Tube rafting will tgoes for 1 hour or so.

Arrived back to the village. If you need to take transport back to medan, you could prepare and start on your transport.

 Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed but are highly likely, especially for orangutans.

There are many mosquitos in the jungle. Make sure put on some mosquito spray or repellent. We can obtain the local mosquito repellent in any shop in Bukit lawang. The DEED max only 13%. If you need higher deed or stronger mosquito repellent, you need to obtain it yourself.

There will be some leeches on this area as well.

  • Sumatra Elephant Sanctuary: Get along and participate in one of the Sumatran Elephant activity at the border of the national park Tangkahan. Walk with the elephant to the river trough the Sumatra jungle, then bath the elephant in the river. This activity is 8.30 am and 3.30 pm. For the walking and bathing the elephant, the CRU will charge for 1.000.000 IDR, 600.000 IDR for only bathing the elephant. We will organized the transport to go and back to Bukit lawang village for 1.200.000, IDR. The car fit 4px max. Lunch will be provided
