Trip Explanation and Itinerary

Your English-speaking guide will pick you up at your hotel in the morning and together you will start an exciting 3-day Jungle Trekking. You will cross a river and walk uphill for a short period of time before reaching Jungle Point in the Leuser National Park. From there, your guide will share his knowledge about animals and plants within the rainforest as you continue walking passing amazing scenic viewpoints overlooking the whole valley of the Bohorok River.

At noon, you’ll arrive at a picturesque location where you will dine on the famous national Indonesian dish nasi goreng and exotic fruits. Resuming your trek, you’ll head uphill to a fantastic view point. After a short break, you continue trekking upstream to the Bohorok River while looking out for more wildlife, more species of plants and trees fx wild orchid. If you are lucky, many gibbons, Pigtail macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, flying squirrels, Sumatran peacocks, hornbills, or even wild orangutans might cross your

path!

Around 4:00 pm, you arrive at the campsite near the river where you will stay overnight. Here it’s time to enjoy and go for a swim in the jungle swimming pool, relaxing with a cup of coffee or tea while your chef prepares a 5 star dinner with a wide range of local food. The perfect ending of the day is to experience the magical night in the middle of the jungle. Enjoy special sounds of nature and amazing stars while having fun with guides playing games around campfire. Mattress, blankets, pillows are available in the one million-star jungle tent.

The next morning, you wake up to the sounds of monkeys and birds. After a delicious breakfast, you are ready for trekking. As you enter deeper into the rainforest, your chances of encountering wildlife increases. Maybe you get lucky and see the 8 species of monkeys that are living in the Gunung Leuser National Park: the Sumatran Orangutan, the Silver Leaf Monkeys, the Long Tail Macaques, the Thomas Leaf Monkeys, the Pig Tail Macaques but also the more rare to see Slow Loris, Siamangs and White-handed Gibbons.

At lunch, your guides prepare a simple jungle meal at a marvelous Tarzan spot. Fantastic scenery along the way through the national park makes for memorable experiences in the afternoon.

Our team will lay out your camp site for the second night next to Bohorok River and treat you to another exotic Indonesian dinner and refreshments. Jungle swimming pool is also available here. Enjoy the evening at your jungle camp by listening to jungle stories told by your guides.

Upon waking in the jungle, you will be enchanted by the sounds of nature. Around the campsite, you may see Sumatran monitor lizards, tortoises, and colourful river butterflies. After breakfast, you can trek for about three hours or just relax at an amazing waterfall next to your campsite. A light lunch will make you ready for your fun return by the jungle taxi to your hotel in Bukit Lawang.

During this 3 day jungle trekking it’s important not to feed animals or throw plastic into the wild, but instead put the plastic in your backpack until arrive at the campsite.
